A $25,000 cash bail has been set for a man who is being accused of allegedly sexually abusing a minor since she was just 9 years old. <\/p>\n
Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo imposed last Tuesday a $25,000 cash bail on Catallino Cangco, who is accused of sexually abusing a minor on multiple occasions since she was 9; she is 16 now. <\/p>\n
Cangco is facing charges of sexual abuse of a minor in the fourth degree, sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, child abuse, and disturbing the peace. <\/p>\n
He was later remanded back to Department of Corrections custody after failing to post bail. He was ordered to return to court on Feb. 2, at 1:30pm for a preliminary hearing. He will be arraigned on Feb. 6, at 9am. <\/p>\n
According to court documents, it was the child who spoke to a family member to discuss what has allegedly been happening to her at the hands of Cangco.<\/p>\n
The victim allegedly stated that Cangco had molested her on multiple occasions, showed her his privates, and ogled her as she was changing. <\/p>\n
The victim told a family member earlier this month, Jan. 4, and underwent a series of interviews with the Division of Youth Services and DPS investigators to tell her story. It was not stated in the police report why Cangco was only arrested recently. <\/p>\n
According to court documents, the victim reportedly told DYS and DPS in a series of interviews that the first sexual abuse case happened when she was about 8 or 9 years old. She stated that she had slept over at a family member\u2019s home on Tinian when she was woken up by Cangco, who was allegedly fondling her. <\/p>\n
The other instance, the minor said, was at a family outing at the beach when Cangco got into the water and touched her privates several times. <\/p>\n
The victim also noted an instance when she got out of the shower and Cangco went to her bedroom and watched her get dressed despite her pleas. <\/p>\n
She stated she was afraid of Cangco as he is known to have a temper, which has prohibited her from coming forward for so long. <\/p>\n
