It’s also open season for cops to give drivers DUI citations and doctors writing excuse slips until their hands become numb.

Seriously, it’s the 57th rendition of the Super Bowl (for those who can’t read Roman numerals) and the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will take on each other for all the gridiron marbles.

Personally, I again have no horse in this Super Bowl as Tom Terrific has finally called it quits (for the nth time, wonder if Gisele will take him back?).

The Chiefs seems to be the underdog in this one as Brady’s heir apparent Patrick Mahomes has a flat tire and the Eagles, behind super freshman Jalen Hurts, seem to be the real deal. If I were a betting man, I’d pick the Eagles in this one, 24-21. But since I’m more of a basketball fan, allow these pigkin fans below to sway your picks.

■ ■ ■

“Final score: 38-21. The Eagles’ offense can’t be stopped. The Chiefs’ DBs won’t be able to contain the Eagles’ WRs, and success in the passing game will open things up for some big runs for Miles Sanders. The Eagles’ defense will keep Mahomes in check. Fly Eagles fly!”
—Mike White,
The Law Offices of Michael A. White, LLC

“I was born and raised in Missouri and LOVE the Chiefs! Score, Chiefs 31, Eagles 27.
The Chiefs will win because the Mahomes-Kelce combo is unmatchable! Oh and the kicker rarely gets recognized but Butker will make the big kicks!
I think Mahomes will be the MVP. He has a chip on his shoulder coming off the high ankle sprain and still feeling like he let the team down at the AFC Championship game. He is going to show up with his Mahomes Magic!”
—Denise Myers, Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games silver medalist

“The final score will be Kansas City Chiefs, 24, Philadelphia Eagles, 14. The Philadelphia Eagles are a BAD team this year, when I say bad, I don’t mean their performance is bad. What I’m saying is, THEY ARE A BAD TEAM. It has been a while since I saw the Eagles looking like this. It seems as if they can take down anyone, heck, anything. I can sense a feeling as if a predator is waiting patiently, eyes locked, talons sharp and ready, calm but wary, looking down at its prey and swooping in when it is time. We all know that Patrick Maholmes is playing but recovering from a high ankle sprain, as an athlete, you need yourself at 100% on the floor. Especially on the biggest stage on the biggest moments under the brightest spotlights. Heck, Denise once said she’d give an arm and a leg to get the Chiefs another ring and she’s half-way there.
