{"id":38536,"date":"2014-06-11T04:00:52","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T18:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=38536"},"modified":"2014-06-11T04:00:52","modified_gmt":"2014-06-10T18:00:52","slug":"house-panel-wraps-2015-budget-hearings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/house-panel-wraps-2015-budget-hearings\/","title":{"rendered":"House panel wraps up 2015 budget hearings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The House Ways and Means Committee wrapped up on Monday its agency budget hearings, and will now begin drafting a budget bill that will spell out where the $134 million in projected revenues available for appropriations for fiscal year 2015 will be spent.<\/p>\n<p>Committee chair Tony Sablan (Ind-Saipan) said most agencies will get the budget that Gov. Eloy S. Inos proposed in his submission to the Legislature, but there would be adjustments in certain critical programs such as medical referral.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan reminded agencies that giving more to one agency means cutting from other agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we\u2019re going to give anybody else more than what they have on the current budget proposal, we have to take it from somebody, so that\u2019s the critical thing.
