Japan\u2019s popular radio production company \u201cMusic Bird\u201d is singing the praises of the Northern Mariana Islands, following a recent visit by producer Yoshimi Masuki. Masuki, whose show name is Arakeda, was on Saipan and Tinian on June 1-4, a trip she describes as \u201cone of the most impressive travels of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
The program is promoting the Northern Marianas during several shows throughout June.\u00a0 On Sunday\u2019s (June 8) \u201cJP TOP 20\u201d J-Pop show airing on 125 radio stations, Masuki mentioned Saipan in the show opening and conducted a promotion for Managaha throughout the show.\u00a0 Yesterday\u2019s \u201cMusic & More\u201d show included music from the Northern Marianas and aired on 90 radio stations.<\/p>\n

They have come to love Saipan, Tinian, and Rota and their many listeners get to feel the special flavor of our destination because of it. Much of the praise for this success is due to KKMP Radio\u2019s Gordon Marciano and Gary Sword who have continued to work closely with the Music Bird group,\u201d said Marianas Visitors Authority marketing manager Bruce Bateman.<\/p>\n
In addition, show host Miyako Hamana will be on Saipan to cover the inaugural Swimming Festival in Managaha (formerly the Saipan International Open Water Flipper Race Tournament) on June 28, 2014.<\/p>\n
Hamana has provided live broadcast coverage of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota over the last two years and has a sizable audience who follow her travels to the Northern Marianas.
