{"id":387488,"date":"2023-03-17T06:06:22","date_gmt":"2023-03-16T20:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=387488"},"modified":"2023-03-17T06:06:22","modified_gmt":"2023-03-16T20:06:22","slug":"mcdonalds-readies-array-of-treats-for-anniversary-shindig","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mcdonalds-readies-array-of-treats-for-anniversary-shindig\/","title":{"rendered":"McDonald\u2019s readies array of  treats for anniversary shindig"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mcdo_middle-road.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-387489\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mcdo_middle-road-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"638\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s definitely going to be a big shindig this Saturday at McDonald\u2019s main branch in Chalan Lau Lau, with special activities that are sure to delight the young and old who will take part in the 30th anniversary celebration of McDonald\u2019s of Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Jewel Cubangbang, marketing assistant for McDonald\u2019s of Saipan, said the anniversary event will last from 2pm until 8pm and will include activities such as kiddie games, cake tasting (courtesy of Herman\u2019s Bakery), and smoothie sampling featuring the Mango Pineapple smoothie, compliments of McDonald\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>A good bargain that will be available exclusively from 2pm until 8pm this Saturday is McDonald\u2019s specially prized six-piece chicken nuggets or a cheeseburger for only $1.30\u2014only at the store\u2019s Chalan Lau Lau branch.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from a cultural performance by Te Ivi Maori, another highlight of the evening\u2019s event are the local performers featuring talents from nine Saipan schools. Cubangbang said McDonald\u2019s is happy to showcase the student performances, which the young participants will always remember with fondness.<\/p>\n<p>The Ayuyu family, represented by Joe Ayuyu Jr., McDonald\u2019s of Guam and Saipan vice president, and his mother, Marcia Ayuyu, vice president of McDonald\u2019s of Saipan, are expected to deliver their messages of thanks for the support their family and their restaurants have received in the past 30 years from local vendors and the community.<\/p>\n<p>Planning for this Saturday\u2019s anniversary event took three months and Cubangbang said they wanted to pay homage to the CNMI children when they were planning this year\u2019s event. Part of McDonald\u2019s of Saipan team\u2019s goal was \u201cto show appreciation to the local community, which has supported McDonald\u2019s for the 30 years that they have been a part of the local landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Another big part of this year\u2019s anniversary is the fundraising event called \u201cRaise the Race.\u201d\u00a0 Cubangbang said the 17-day fundraiser, which began on March 1 and will end on March 17, will benefit the CNMI Public School System elementary schools. This fundraiser, which was first offered in 2013 in time for McDonald\u2019s of Saipan\u2019s 20th anniversary, is being revived this year. McDonald\u2019s diners who spend $15 minimum on their receipt are eligible to help support the school of their choice.
