A grass fire engulfed a section of Mt. Tapochao over the weekend. The Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services has yet to determine the cause of the fire.<\/p>\n
According to DFEMS, a female caller reported last March 18, at approximately 2pm, that there is a possible grass fire on Mt. Tapochao due to thick black smoke in the area.<\/p>\n
DFEMS sent several teams to the area soon after and DFEMS captain J. Laniyo reported that the brush fire was fully contained at 3:17pm.<\/p>\n
Investigators from the Division of Fire Prevention and Arson Investigation arrived at the scene soon after the fire was contained to do their investigation.<\/p>\n
As of press time, assessment of the cause of the fire and how much acreage was burned has yet to be determined. Information will be put out at a later date and time, said DFEMS. (Kimberly B.
