(LEIGH GASES)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Lady Legals and Hotshots outpaced their respective opponents in the women\u2019s division of the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League\u00a0 last Sunday at the DanDan Softball Field.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Legals doubled their runs against the Lady Sufa, 12-6, while Janice Celis of the Hotshots shutout Team BDE, 11-1.<\/p>\n<p>The first inning was quiet for both teams, but in the second inning, the Lady Legals\u2019 bats came alive and brought in six runs.<\/p>\n<p>While the Lady Legals kept the scorekeeper busy, Lady Sufa still laid goose eggs until the fourth inning when Annalyn Olupumar hit a double, followed with a two-run single by Brinae Cruz.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Legals then added three more runs for an 11-3 game, and only three more runs were made by the Lady Sufa in the last inning for a final of 12-6.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the game, the Lady Legals\u2019 Edilyn Benjamin hit a solo homer, Pauline Camacho went 4-for-4 at bat, while teammate Almina Guerrero had two RBIs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the Hotshots-BDE game, the only run scored against Celis was a homerun made in the fifth inning, but other than that, BDE had a limited number of hits against the Hotshots.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Hotshots were flaming up the field once they found their groove in the third inning, bringing in three runs led off by Erica Tenorio.<\/p>\n<p>Celis also helped her offense as a base hit off a BDE error allowed Mardina Kaipat to run home after her double.
