Tenorio announced DPL\u2019s remittance of almost $1 million in land leases to the Marianas Public Land Trust based on the findings of a fiscal year 2013 audit. The remittance is pursuant to Article 11 Section 6 of the CNMI Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Tenorio, in a June 6 letter to MPLT board of trustees chair Martin B. Ada, said DPL remitted $996,743 to MPLT\u2019s Bank of Guam account No. 0603-000082 via fund transfer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis represents the official amount to be remitted based on the findings of the fiscal year 2013, copies of which are provided to MPLT,\u201d Tenorio told Ada.<\/p>\n<p>MPLT trustees earlier considered taking legal action against DPL if it continues to withhold remittances to the land trust. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Department of Public Lands Secretary Pete A.
