Effective May 30, 2023, the U.S. Department of State will be increasing certain nonimmigrant visa application processing fees worldwide.<\/p>\n
According to an April 11, 2023 notice on the U.S. Embassy website in Manila, the application fee for visitor visas for business or tourism (B1\/B2s) and other non-petition-based NIVs, such as student and exchange visitor visas, will increase from $160 to $185. <\/p>\n
The application fee for certain petition-based NIVs for temporary workers (H, L, 0, P, IQ, and R categories) will increase from $190 to $205. <\/p>\n
The application fee for a treaty trader, treaty investor, and treaty applicant in a specialty occupation (E category) will increase from $205 to $315. <\/p>\n
Other consular fees remain the same, including the waiver of the two-year residency required fee for certain exchange visitors.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Applicants who have already paid a visa application fee that is currently valid and non-expired, but who have not yet appeared for their visa interview or are waiting for their case to be processed, will not be charged any additional fees.<\/p>\n
Applicants who have already been interviewed and whose cases are under administrative processing will not have to pay additional application fees.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are committed to efficient visa processing so international visitors can travel to the United States. Visa application fees are calculated based on the cost of providing the service,\u201d said a U.S. Embassy statement on its Facebook page.<\/p>\n
