The Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is hosting their 2nd Annual 5K this Saturday, April 29 at 5pm.
\nThe course will start from Minachom Atdao in Susupe to Quarter Master Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Earlier in the day, the library will hold a roadside waving, then warm up with Zumba.<\/p>\n
All proceeds will go to the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library\u2019s 2023 Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Entry fee is $10 for participants 13 years old and above.<\/p>\n

Run Saipan president Edward Dela Cruz Jr. said that he is personally\u00a0 overseeing and helping the library with their fun run.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI pledged last year after their initial 5K they will always have my support. The difference with this year\u2019s 5K is that it\u2019s not a sanctioned race. It wasn\u2019t on our calendar this year as a competitive run. It\u2019s really a community fun run and all proceeds are going to support the friends of the library and their summer program for 2023 for children.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Other races Dela Cruz is assisting with are the upcoming CHCC\u2019s CGC Mental Health Awareness 5K and the Marianas Visitors Authority\u2019s Tourism 5K in May.\u00a0<\/p>\n
