{"id":390509,"date":"2023-04-28T06:00:21","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T20:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=390509"},"modified":"2023-04-28T06:00:21","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T20:00:21","slug":"all-set-for-hafa-adai-5k-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/all-set-for-hafa-adai-5k-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"All set for Hafa Adai 5K tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pacific Islands Club Saipan\u2019 will again be hosting the island\u2019s most colorful running event as the Hafa Adai 5K gets going from the streets of San Antonio tomorrow starting at 6:30am.<\/p>\n<p>PIC Saipan SEA manager Reymark Castro said they have slots for 2,000 participants and proceeds from this year\u2019s Hafa Adai 5K will benefit the Northern Marianas Humanities Council.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the Northern Marianas Humanities Council\u2019s mission to navigate and explore the human experiences of the indigenous and diverse peoples of the Commonwealth by enriching their lives through research, dialogue, programs, and publications,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Castro added that PIC once again has partnered up with a number of sponsors to help make the Hafa Adai 5K as successful as possible.\u00a0 Among them are: Eland Group, Kensington Hotel Saipan, Coral Ocean Resort, Bridge Capital, Marpac, and All-Star Sporting Goods<\/p>\n<p>Aside from helping the Northern Marianas Humanities Council, all participants will be entered into the post-race raffle and are welcome to join in some fun and games for awesome prizes. These include annual memberships to PIC Saipan along with lunches, Sunday brunches, gym memberships, and many more.<\/p>\n<p>The most participants from every school level will also receive a $300 gift certificate from PIC in partnership with All-Star Sporting Goods. Levels are categorized as high school, middle school, and elementary. PIC supports sports in schools as it is a great start to the health and well-being of students in the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 5K run will start and finish at PIC Saipan and will feature five different coloring stations along the Beach Road route. Participants are encouraged to wear white attire so that the full effect of the coloring stations can be seen post-race. Volunteers will be celebrating each runner\u2019s arrival by greeting them with \u201choli powder.\u201d This is a biodegradable mixture of cornstarch and food coloring.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Entry fees are only $10 and $15 on race day. Entry forms for the Hafa Adai 5K can be found at the PIC lobby. Registration on race day will be at the PIC South Parking starting at 5am.
