Both wrote operas, sacred and secular music. Alessandro Scarlatti (born May 2,1660 \u2013 died Oct. 22, 1725) wrote over 500 sonatas for\u00a0harpsichord. Claudio Monteverdi (baptized on May 15, 1567 \u2013 died Nov. 29, 1643) is considered the father of operas in the Baroque style.<\/p>\n<p>H.M.M.M.? Here is a fantasia in rustic mode with due respect for Handel, Mozart, and Marin Marais; Haydn, Monteverdi, Monk and Mingus.
