(CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>SaeHee Kim won the CNMI Women\u2019s Golf Association\u2019s first monthly tournament of the season after topping\u00a0 the May\u00a0 edition last Saturday, May 13, at the Coral Ocean Golf Resort.<\/p>\n<p>Kim shot a net 61 after firing a gross of 76. The 15-handicapper fired a 40 in the front nine before improving by four strokes in the back nine for a terrific 36.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe weather was so hot with no wind. But the course was so nice and well maintained,\u201d she said about last Saturday\u2019s playing conditions.\u00a0<br \/>\nAsked what worked for her during the May tournament, Kim pretty much said almost every aspect of her game was automatic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy driver, iron, putter was working so well. I was so satisfied with my game last Saturday,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Kim then dedicated her win to her loving family, especially her husband, Wan Sub Lee, who also serves as her coach.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so honored to be the winner of the month at the beginning of the new season,\u201d she said.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_391721\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-391721\" style=\"width: 182px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/CWGA-pix-2wb.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/CWGA-pix-2wb-182x300.jpg\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-391721\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A total of 10 CNMI Women\u2019s Golf Association members took part in the first tournament of the season last Saturday, May 13, at the Coral Ocean Golf Resort. (CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>It marked only the second time Kim has won in the CWGA after recording her breakthrough win last March.<\/p>\n<p>CGWA president Yuko Togawa was a distant second with a net of 68. The 9-handicapper shot a gross of 77 built around a 39 and 38 in the first and last nine holes, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Third place went to Sophia Jang who came away with a stroke higher than Togawa\u2019s total with her 69. She carded a 44 in the front nine before retiring with a 43 in the back nine for a gross of 87 for the 18-handicapper.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nineteen-handicapper Terry Guerrero actually tied Jang for third but lost via scorecard tiebreaker. The former got to 69 via the strength of her 45-44 and gross 88 score.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 10 CWGA members took to the course in last Saturday\u2019s May tournament and rest of the players, with their net scores in parenthesis, were as follows: Jannet Torres (70), Nirimai Koebel (71), Dol Yamagishi (79), Flor Jones (82), Lorraine Babauta (87), and Rose Rohringer (87).<\/p>\n<p>The club continues to look for new members as the new season continues.
