Clamor and Michelle D. Quichocho were named as this year\u2019s most outstanding students of Tinian Junior High School, receiving the highest academic recognitions during the institution\u2019s promotions ceremony yesterday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Clamor emerged as class valedictorian and recipient of the prestigious State Board of Education Award bestowed by chair Herman T. Guerrero. <\/p>\n<p>Quichocho was named class salutatorian and received the Commissioner of Education Award from Dr. Rita A. Sablan and her leadership team. <\/p>\n<p>Tinian Junior High promoted yesterday 48 eighth graders to high school. This year\u2019s ceremony was themed \u201cHard Work Beats Talent When Talent Refuses to Work Hard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the school\u2019s Top 10 list this year were: Clamor, Quichocho, Nicole Quichocho, Mariah Manuel Cruz, Kayziel Gayle Mojica, Rufina Maria Palacios, Edric Marco Hofschneider, Pia Elayne Dela Cruz, Floicia Manibusan, and Mark Joshua Libut.<\/p>\n<p>In her valedictory address, Clamor recognized her parents and teachers for their unconditional support and guidance throughout the years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis time it will be hard. We\u2019ll have to face all problems high school throws at us. But I am confident enough that our parents and teachers made us all prepared for what we are about to face,\u201d she told her peers, adding that there\u2019s still a long road ahead of them which will change their lives even more.<\/p>\n<p>Quichocho, for her part, saluted and congratulated her fellow classmates for making it to high school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to salute and congratulate my fellow classmates for making this far. Congratulations to all of you for you have all worked hard and did a job well done. I know getting here wasn\u2019t easy but we did it. As this journey end we will begin a new one,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In his congratulatory remarks, BOE chair Guerrero emphasized the uniqueness of each and every student as they strive for their future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you journey for the next four years, try to look back and reflect on the hard work and talent you have invested,\u201d he said, adding that PSS and the BOE are looking forward to a successful four years for the promoted students.<\/p>\n<p>Education Commissioner Sablan, for her part, thanked the students\u2019 parents for not only supporting their children but for recognizing the hard work and dedication of their kids as they move ahead in their education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to let you know that when PSS work, we work and partner with everybody. Thank you to [Tinian] Mayor Ramon Dela Cruz who has always been there when our schools need help,\u201d she told the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>She also recognized the Municipal Council, the Executive Branch, the business community, and Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) for their support for public education.<\/p>\n<p>School principal Jennifer San Nicolas left the graduates with a meaningful message: \u201cThis group of students holds a special place in me, because I had many if not most of them as my students in their early elementary years. I\u2019m very proud that I played a role in their journey. This is what exactly what teacher\u2019s meant: Teaching can be rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lisa Nicole P. Clamor and Michelle D.
