Arnold I. Palacios has nominated lawyer Bruce Jorgensen to the Commonwealth Ports Authority board.<\/p>\n<p>According to Palacios\u2019 letter to Senate president Edith Deleon Guerrero dated June 1, Jorgensen, if confirmed, will serve the remaining term of former board member Barrie C. Toves, which is set to expire on Oct. 7, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The nomination requires the advice and consent of the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>To date, the Senate has yet to confirm Jorgensen\u2019s nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Jorgensen previously served on the CPA transition team for the Palacios administration and was tasked with looking into CPA\u2019s federal and regulatory compliance. According to him, the CPA is in a \u201ccrisis\u201d for multiple reasons, the most worrisome of which is CPA\u2019s alleged lack of funding prospects to avert a fiscal downturn.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Jorgensen also claimed that CPA also faces a crisis due to management issues and alleged prospective sanctions by the Federal Aviation Administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
