We’re glad to help the college in its effort to provide our youth access to higher education,” McDonald’s Joe Ayuyu Jr. said after the donation presentation to NMC Foundation and NMC officials.

NMC Foundation is the non-profit arm of the college, raising funds through donations and hosting of events to help continue the operation of the school. The golf tournament is one of the fundraising events and this year’s competition will be held on June 28 on the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

Mable Ayuyu echoed his brother’s sentiments, saying it is very important to get a college degree to prepare future leaders of the CNMI and McDonald’s and other members of the business community can help realize that goal by supporting the foundation and the college’s activities.

McDonald’s owner and president Joe Ayuyu Sr. joined wife Marcia and his children in the donation turnover ceremony yesterday and called on other businesses and fellow golfers to take part in next week’s tournament.

“We challenge other companies to follow McDonald’s lead. Let’s support the college. A little sacrifice, like passing on a lunch date, will help the college raise fund to continue its operation,” added.

NMC Foundation president Bill Santos received the donation and was joined in the check presentation by NMC acting president Dave Attao, Richard Villagomez, Floyd Masga, Jackie Che, and Tracy Guerrero.

“On behalf of the NMC Foundation, we are deeply grateful to McDonald’s and the Ayuyu family for their generous donation. As you know, the foundation is the non-profit arm of the NMC and all its investment will go to the college and eventually to our students, who will be our future leaders and can help make the Commonwealth a better place to live in,” Santos said.

Meanwhile, entrance fee in the golf tournament is only $95 and players can choose to enter in six different flights: Championship, A, B, C, Seniors, and Ladies.

To register or for more information, contact Villagomez at 234-5498 ext. 6780 or email richard.villagomez@marianas.edu.

McDonald’s turned over its $5,000 donation for the 2014 NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament during…

[5
46,37,69,240
post-39428","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-ceremony","tag-education-2","tag-nmc","tag-richard-villagomez
["GET
