(CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The ladies of Kanoa Football Club finished strong as they shut down TakeCare, 7-0, in the Tinekcha-Awaal (Premier) Division finals of the 2023 Spring Dove Women\u2019s League last Wednesday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.<\/p>\n<p>Kanoa had a strong start and wasted no time looking for opportunities to score and attacking TakeCare\u2019s goalie and defense\u2014which paid off in the 12th minute when Deseha Mendiola found an opening.<\/p>\n<p>Mendiola kept up her striking pose as she scored the second goal in the 21st minute and completed the hat-trick in the 32nd minute.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>TakeCare could not respond and it was already a 3-0 Kanoa lead even before the start of the second half. Christina Atalig then made it a 4-0 game right before the first half ended.<\/p>\n<p>Not even five minutes later, Atalig scored her second goal and made it a 5-0 game in the 42nd minute.\u00a0<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_394700\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-394700\" style=\"width: 202px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/NMIFA-pix-2wb.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/NMIFA-pix-2wb-202x300.jpg\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-394700\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shirley\u2019s Jannah Casarino, second from left, won the Golden Boot Award with 14 goals in the Tinekcha-Awaal (Premier) Division finals of the 2023 Spring Dove Women\u2019s League.(CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>Time was running out for TakeCare but Kanoa\u2019s defenses were tight and closed off\u2014deflecting any attempts at the goal as the lead only extended with Ye Lyn Ha\u2019s goal in the 50th minute for a 6-0 game.
