From left: Jonas Macapinlac, UOG chief marketing and communications officer; Tabitha Clark, NAGC president, and Jackie Hanson, UOG extension associate III.(NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATORS )<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The University of Guam recently won national and international awards for its 70th Anniversary Exhibit held at the Guam Museum last year.<\/p>\n<p>The Council for Advancement and Support of Education Circle of Excellence Award presented UOG with two Gold Awards for the exhibit in the Special Events, In- Person Multi-Day Events category and in the Design\/Environmental Graphics category.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Judges: Concept could serve as a model<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe panel had not seen an experience like this in the past and was inspired by the concept,\u201d according to CASE\u2019s description of the award. \u201cJudges felt this concept could serve as a model for other institutions and is an excellent platform for giving exposure to the institution\u2019s message and voice.\u201d<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_395801\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-395801\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/2-2picfeatwb.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/2-2picfeatwb.jpg\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-395801\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Guests experience the University of Guam\u2019s 70th Anniversary Museum Exhibit as it offers interactive displays at the Senator Antonio M. (UNIVERSITY OF GUAM)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>In 2023, teams from 583 institutions in nearly 22 countries entered the CASE awards, submitting 4,021 entries in 96 categories for magazines and other publications, fundraising campaigns, alumni initiatives and other special events, marketing, leadership, video, and more.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about the two CASE awards, go to: https:\/\/www.case.org\/awards\/circle- excellence\/2023\/70th-anniversary-museum-exhibit<\/p>\n<p><strong>Government communicator awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UOG\u2019s anniversary exhibit also won first place in the \u201cSpecial Purpose Product\u201d category of the National Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Awards and second place awards in the \u201cPrint Display\u201d and \u201cSpecial Event or Conference\u201d categories. The awards were given in April 2023 in Portland, Oregon.<\/p>\n<p>NAGC awards program recognizes superior government communication products and those who produce them. Nearly 2,500 visited the exhibit.(UNIVERSITY OF GUAM)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>The exhibit allowed Guam residents to learn about 70 years of UOG\u2019s history in an interactive 3,000-square-foot museum space at the Sen. Antonio M. Palomo Guam Museum and Chamorro Educational Facility in Hag\u00e5t\u00f1a. The exhibit drew almost 2,500 guests including more than 700 students and raised $10,000 for the UOG Endowment Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur 70th Anniversary Exhibit was produced and coordinated by teams across the University, said UOG acting president Anita Borja Enriquez. \u201cThese awards recognize that the rich history of UOG and the work we produce are exceptional among our peers in government and in higher education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Virtual tour<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 70th Anniversary Exhibit closed in October 2022, but it lives on in an online virtual tour.
