{"id":39611,"date":"2014-06-24T04:00:07","date_gmt":"2014-06-23T18:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=39611"},"modified":"2014-06-24T04:00:07","modified_gmt":"2014-06-23T18:00:07","slug":"mayors-office-accepting-marriage-fees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mayors-office-accepting-marriage-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Mayor\u2019s Office not accepting marriage fees\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office has put up a notice to all marriage applicants that payments are being accepted at the Division of Treasury at the Guma Hustisia in Susupe.<\/p>\n<p>According to Saipan Mayor Marian Tudela, the notice is to inform all those who want to secure a marriage license.<\/p>\n<p>Tudela told Saipan Tribune that her office doesn\u2019t receive payments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do not accept any payments for I.D and marriage here at Mayor\u2019s Office. Please remit your payments at any treasury cashier,\u201d the notice reads.<\/p>\n<p>The sign is posted in two places at the Mayor\u2019s Office\u2014at the entrance into the I.D. section and the marriage ceremonies section.<\/p>\n<p>Tudela said she wants those who have paid at the Mayor\u2019s Office to come forward and consult with the mayor\u2019s special adviser, Henry Hofschneider, or herself.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hofschneider, there is a public law that provides for an application of $50 for marriage fees that comes with a $10 fee for filing and $10 for a certified copy.
