Hinton\u2019s novel and Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s 1983 coming-of-age crime drama.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Outsiders\u201d had its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse earlier this year. The Broadway cast and dates have not been revealed yet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope to be able to contribute while continuing to learn from this amazing team, who I have been working with since my daughter brought me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse,\u201d Jolie said in a statement. \u201cI can\u2019t begin to express how excited I am for this musical to make its Broadway debut and look forward to sharing this new adaptation of \u2018The Outsiders\u2019 with the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other celebs who have signed up to produce Broadway shows include Mariah Carey on the current hit \u201cSome Like It Hot.\u201d Dwyane Wade, actor Gabrielle Union and RuPaul joined the producing team of the closed show \u201cAin\u2019t No Mo,\u2019\u201d and Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas joined the producing team of last season\u2019s \u201cChicken &amp; Biscuits.\u201d Jennifer Hudson, Don Cheadle, Mindy Kaling and RuPaul were also among the producers of 2022\u2019s Tony-winner \u201cA Strange Loop\u201d while the current \u201cHere Lies Love\u201d boasts H.E.R., Jo Koy and Apl.de.Ap as producers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Outsiders\u201d musical features a story by Adam Rapp with Justin Levine, music and lyrics by Jonathan Clay, Zach Chance and Levine.
