{"id":400254,"date":"2023-10-10T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-10T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=400254"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"Flood-watch-in-effect-until-Wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/Flood-watch-in-effect-until-Wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Flood watch in effect until Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A flood watch remains in effect in the CNMI until Wednesday afternoon and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.<\/p>\n<p>Based on information received from the National Weather Service in Guam and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center-State Warning Point, the flood watch is in effect from yesterday through Wednesday afternoon on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota due to the passage of Tropical Storm Bolaven through the region. The storm was expected to turn into a typhoon by today.<\/p>\n<p>Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Streams may rise out of their banks. Flash flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and<\/p>\n<p>Flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.<\/p>\n<p>As Bolaven gets closer, showers are expected to increase significantly.
