Sablan Middle School in San Antonio and, after a thorough sweep of the school, a 13-year-old was taken in for allegedly making the threat.

The Department of Public Safety responded to the threat at FMS late yesterday morning. The call at around 11:53am was initially about a disturbance, but after police got to the scene, they learned that a student had threated to blow up the campus, according to DPS spokesperson Fred Sato.

“The report was that there was a student who claimed he found fireworks inside one of the school’s restrooms and brought it to a teacher and informed him about where he found it. Then the student threatened the teacher and told him that if he [were] to report him, he would blow up the campus,” he said.

First responders were immediately dispatched to the scene, Sato said, and even sought assistance from the Commonwealth Ports Authority’s K9 Unit.

“The first step was to get the students out of the classrooms, getting them away from the school, [and] securing the buildings. We notified CPA Ports Police K9 unit that we needed assistance from their K9s that can detect explosives,” he said.

The all-clear was given at around 1pm, Sato said, and students were allowed to return to their classes, and the student who made the bomb threat—the 13-year-old boy—was taken to DPS for further investigation.

“We completed a thorough search of every classroom and building, and we got an all-clear. We got an all-clear at around 1pm so students resumed classes. The 13-year-old male student has been taken in. He was taken to our investigations Unit, the parents [were] notified, and from there the investigation will continue,” he said.

Sato also noted that the student who made the bomb threat yesterday is a different one from a previous FMS student who made terror threats.

Two boys were arrested last September for threatening to shoot up FMS.

In that incident, the Superior Court imposed a $25,000 cash bail on each of the two teens who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the online threats of a school shooting at FMS. The suspects were two 16-year-old males who have since been tried as juveniles.

According to a press release from DPS, the two boys were each charged with making a terroristic threat and conspiracy.

CNMI Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan, who signed the arrest warrant, imposed a $25,000 bail on each suspect.

A bomb threat was reported at the Francisco M.
