{"id":401470,"date":"2023-11-29T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=401470"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"IPI-aware-but-mum-of-Beijing-Court-s-decision-in-case-against-former-official","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/IPI-aware-but-mum-of-Beijing-Court-s-decision-in-case-against-former-official\/","title":{"rendered":"IPI aware, but mum of Beijing Court\u2019s  decision in case against former official"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC manager\/director Howyo Chi said yesterday that they are aware of a Beijing Court\u2019s decision that found IPI\u2019s former project director to be involved in criminal activities.<\/p>\n<p>In response to <em>Saipan Tribune<\/em>\u2019s inquiry about the Beijing Court\u2019s decision, Chi said IPI will have no comments at this time.<\/p>\n<p>The Beijing Municipal First Intermediate People\u2019s Court ruled on Nov. 24, 2023, that Ji Xiaobo, the former executive of Macau junket firm, Hengsheng Group, and project director for IPI, was deemed head of a criminal syndicate. <strong><em>(See related story)<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Commonwealth Casino Commission board chair Edward C. DeLeon Guerrero also has yet to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>DeLeon Guerrero set the CCC board\u2019s regular monthly meeting for tomorrow, Thursday, at 10:30am.
