The Department of Public Safety is still on the lookout for a man facing multiple charges, including unlawful transportation of firearms.<\/p>\n

According to DPS spokesperson Fred Sato, DPS is still on the hunt for Kelvin Cabrera Sanchez, who faces charges that include unlawful transportation of firearms, removal of the serial number from a firearm, no firearm permit, illegal possession of narcotics, and others.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of this time, he has not been arrested,\u201d said Sato.<\/p>\n

Sanchez was previously detained at the Department of Corrections after DPS officers did a traffic stop on him last Oct. 24 and allegedly found methamphetamine and ammunition in his car.<\/p>\n

According to the previous DPS report, police received a disturbance report at the Pak Pak beach park in San Antonio at about 11:33pm on Oct. 24. Police said a witness identified a white Toyota Corolla fleeing the beach at a high rate of speed heading north.<\/p>\n

An off-duty police officer later saw the vehicle along Beach Road in Susupe heading north at high speed. Shortly after, officers traced the vehicle to a residence in San Jose village.<\/p>\n

As the officers were doing their investigation, they observed that the driver of the white Corolla, identified as Sanchez, was under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested him and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n

Sanchez was later found in possession of a glass pipe that contained a white residue. A field test was conducted on the residue, which yielded a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

The white Toyota Corolla was impounded and officers discovered plastic baggies with white crystal-like substance and glass pipes with white residue inside the car. Both items allegedly tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Additionally, a black handgun with no serial number and ammunitions were found inside the car.<\/p>\n
