{"id":402648,"date":"2023-12-28T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-28T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=402648"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"Finance-announces-open-enrollment-for-GHLI","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/Finance-announces-open-enrollment-for-GHLI\/","title":{"rendered":"Finance announces open enrollment for GHLI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Finance has announced that the open enrollment period for the CNMI Government Group Health and Life Insurance Trust Fund is currently open through Dec. 28, 2023 for coverage effective Jan. 1, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The premium rates, indicated below, reflect an increase from previous years\u2019 rates and are specified for individual employees, employees with dependents, and coverage for employees and their families. Government employees are encouraged to review the different options that are available so that they can sign up or modify their insurance coverage during the open enrollment period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur administration is committed to ensuring that CNMI residents have access to quality and affordable coverage,\u201d said Gov. Arnold I. Palacios. \u201cNonetheless, given the fiscal challenges that we face and the cost containment measures we must implement to continue on the CNMI\u2019s path to economic recovery, we must re-evaluate the government\u2019s share of employees\u2019 and retirees\u2019 premiums.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Palacios stated that the Department of Finance team is already looking into options that reduce the government\u2019s overall expenditure on healthcare and will be sharing these options and other updates soon.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of Finance Tracy Norita stated that the GHLI team is already contacting human resource departments at various agencies to provide information about the open enrollment period as well as changes that may be anticipated over the next few months.
