{"id":402714,"date":"2023-12-29T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-29T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=402714"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"No-2-CNMI-tennis-promoted-to-ITF-Class-B","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/No-2-CNMI-tennis-promoted-to-ITF-Class-B\/","title":{"rendered":"No. 2 CNMI tennis promoted to ITF Class B"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Mariana Islands Tennis Association reached a historic breakthrough in its tennis aspirations at the International Tennis Federation Annual General Meeting held in Cancun, Mexico last September.<\/p>\n<p>NMITA\u2019s status was elevated from a Class C membership\u2014to a Class B membership\u2014after Dr. Bobby Cruz represented NMITA in the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Among the 20 countries in Pacific Oceania, only Guam previously held Class B status.<\/p>\n<p>With the support of NMI national tennis team head coach Jeff Race and the Oceania Tennis Federation leaders, the NMI now stands proudly as just the second Class B member in the Pacific region.
