The Dodgers and Pirates are still looking like the teams to beat in the 2023 Tan Holdings-SBL Masters League as they routed their foes last Thursday and Friday at the Francisco \u201cTan Ko\u201d Palacios Baseball Field.<\/p>\n

Robert Bansil led the Dodgers to a defining 14-2 victory over the Blue Jays last Friday as he hit the first home run of the season. Bansil scorched the ball past the outfield fence and brought in Rich Quitugua for a two-run homer in the first inning to put their team up, 3-0.<\/p>\n

The inning wasn\u2019t over yet as the Dodgers\u2019 offense was just getting started. After Bansil, John Acosta, Mark Villagomez, and Eddie Manibusan all reached base, then a triple by pitcher Jeff Cruz swept the bases clear. Clint Quitugua and James Benavente added two runs and made it a 9-0 game before the inning mercifully ended for the Blue Jays.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays tried to maneuver past Cruz, but he was in cruise control throughout the game and gave up just three hits. The two runs came in the last inning when Mike Tomokane and Manny Cabrera scored.<\/p>\n

It was not even a dent against the Dodgers as at this point, they had scored five more runs and the game ended early when the Blue Jays could not add any more runs. The Dodgers are second behind the Pirates at a 4-2 record.<\/p>\n

In last Thursday\u2019s game, the undefeated Pirates stole their sixth win after they defeated the Marlins, 15-5.<\/p>\n

The Marlins kept close as they scored their five runs by the third inning, but the Pirates pulled away in the fourth. It was a 7-5 Pirates lead in the third, but they scored three more and made it 10-5.<\/p>\n

In the fifth inning, the Pirates went on to score four more, while the Marlins were thrown out in order.<\/p>\n

The Pirates leadoff batter Vinnie Sablan racked up two hits out of three at-bats, scored two runs, and had one RBI; Jerome Delos Santos also went 2-for-3, scored three runs, and hit a double; and Derek Sasamoto provided cover from the bottom of the line up going two hits for three at-bats, scoring two runs, and bringing in one RBI.<\/p>\n
