That email also skirted the issue about the alleged “misconduct” and the identity of the person involved, and merely cited a “faculty member,” which could be a teacher, a teacher aide, a librarian, or a school administrator.

Camacho’s statement yesterday narrowed down the possible person involved to a teacher, saying the CNMI Public School System affirms the resignation of a former MHS teacher “in the spirit of transparency and community engagement.”

It also said that PSS and MHS assure it’s “committed to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality educational experience for all students.”

The release also attempted to placate community concerns about the subject. “We understand that transitions can be unsettling, and we want to assure the community that we are dedicated to maintaining the standards of excellence that MHS is known for. Our priority remains the well-being and education of our students, and we will work diligently to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved,” said Camacho.

In response to Saipan Tribune’s inquiries of the alleged misconduct, Camacho said last Friday that the “matter in question is currently under investigation.”

Multiple independent sources have reached out to Saipan Tribune claiming to know details of the alleged misconduct, but we are temporarily withholding publishing these information as they could not be independently verified and confirmed by official channels.

Both PSS and DPS have not revealed any details of the alleged misconduct, but social media chatter has divulged what type of misconduct allegedly happened and identified the MHS teacher who is reportedly involved. Saipan Tribune is withholding those details for now until authorities officially release that information.

The Marianas High School campus in Susupe.

-CONTRIBUTED PHOTO

A Marianas High School teacher has resigned, effective last Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, according to…

[4

post-404982","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
