{"id":405538,"date":"2024-02-16T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-16T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=405538"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"ACS-leads-MS-boys-v-ball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/ACS-leads-MS-boys-v-ball\/","title":{"rendered":"ACS leads MS boys v-ball"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Agape Christian School Torchbearers leads the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Boys Middle School Volleyball League 2023-2024 with four straight wins.<\/p>\n<p>Their two recent conquests were over Grace Christian Academy in two sets, 21-9, 21-14, last Tuesday and Tanapag Middle School also in two sets, 21-14, 21-14, last Feb. 8.<\/p>\n<p>The Torchbearers\u2019 roster of Daniel Yang, Raffy Cai, Danny Cheng, Reyviel Escarlan, Joseph Yang, Benny Li, Daniel Huang, Scott Shi, Benjamin Cai, and Andy Chen is on fire and is out for vengeance this season.<\/p>\n<p>Their execution and strategy allowed them to quickly interrupt whatever flow their opponent has, and swing the momentum over to their favor. Led by main hitter Yang\u2014who defends the net well with his hard kills\u2014they are looking like the team to beat after falling to second place last season.<\/p>\n<p>In other results last Tuesday, TMS fought tooth and nail against Dandan Middle School and came out victorious in three sets, 21-15, 17-21, 15-7; Francisco M. Sablan Middle School escaped a rallying Hopwood Middle School, 21-11, 25-24; and Saipan International School defeated Chacha Ocean View Middle School, 21-17, 21-19.<\/p>\n<p>In last Feb. 8\u2019s games, TMS II overpowered SIS II, 21-7, 21-13; FMS II edged COVMS II, 21-12, 21-17; HMS II trounced DMS II, 21-12, 21-6; GCA made light work of Saipan Community School, 21-9, 21-9; and DMS put up a great fight against HMS in three sets, 22-20, 21-19, 15-12.<\/p>\n<p>As of last Tuesday in the varsity standings, ACS leads the league with their undefeated record of four wins, while Mount Carmel School is right behind with the only other undefeated record of three wins.
