{"id":406766,"date":"2024-03-27T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=406766"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"IPI-to-file-TRO-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/IPI-to-file-TRO-again\/","title":{"rendered":"IPI to file TRO again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC is in the process of filing another motion for a temporary restraining order to stop the Commonwealth Casino Commission board members from deliberating and deciding by next week whether or not to revoke IPI\u2019s exclusive casino license.<\/p>\n<p>In response to <em>Saipan Tribune<\/em>\u2019s inquiry, IPI director\/manager Howyo Chi disclosed yesterday that their lawyer, Michael Chen, is working on the TRO motion, which will be filed today, Wednesday, before the U.S. District Court for the NMI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue process violations are going to be our strongest grounds for TRO,\u201d Chi said. He did not elaborate.<\/p>\n<p>CCC board chair Edward C. DeLeon Guerrero has set the board\u2019s regular monthly meeting tomorrow, Thursday, at 10:30am, in the CCC conference room at the Springs Plaza building in Gualo Rai. The meeting\u2019s agenda includes the board\u2019s deliberation and decision scheduled for Tuesday next week pertaining to IPI\u2019s casino license revocation hearing.<\/p>\n<p>CCC board vice chair Rafael S. Demapan and commissioners Ramon M. Dela Cruz, Mariano Taitano, and Martin T. Mendiola are serving as judges in the revocation hearing.
