Arnold I. Palacios has resubmitted the nomination of Chanelle A. Manglona to serve as a member of the board of trustees for the Northern Marianas Technical Institute to represent Rota.<\/p>\n<p>Due to time constraints, Palacios has also withdrawn the nomination of Jose P. Cruz and Dr. Martin P. Rohringer to serve as a member of the Civil Service Commission and Healthcare Professions Licensing Board, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>On Maglona\u2019s nomination, the governor said the statutory employment restriction imposed by the Commonwealth Code, which prohibits government employees from serving as a board member of the NMTI Board of Trustees, places an undue burden as it limits the pool of otherwise qualified potential appointees from Rota.<\/p>\n<p>Palacios said he is waiving such restriction as authorized by the Commonwealth Code.<\/p>\n<p>The governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident in Manglona\u2019s ability to serve on the board and contribute to NMTI\u2019s growth as a provider of advanced career, trades, and technical training throughout the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>If confirmed by the Senate, Manglona will serve a four-year term expiring on March 11, 2028.<\/p>\n<p>On Cruz\u2019s and Rohringer\u2019s nomination, Palacios said, due to time constrains he made a difficult decision to withdraw the names of their appointees.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz was appointed to represent Tinian in the Civil Service Commission, while Rohringer was renominated to represent physicians in the Health Care Professions Licensing Board.<\/p>\n<p>Palacios said he will resubmit Rohringer\u2019s re-nomination at a later time.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/imgupload\/3e0dcfb26c7f246f7915d949eee64319.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Gov.
