Curriculum of the Childcare Bootcamp VI focused on the management of a childcare facility.<\/p>\n<p>The bootcamp started in October 2023 and ended in January 2024. The seven completers are all currently employed.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in this bootcamp completed a 15-week curriculum including Introduction to Exceptionalities, Childcare Management, Emergency Planning (by the Guam Fire Department), How to Start a Childcare Business, Heartsavers First Aid &amp; CPR, Work Ethic, and WorkKeys.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to all of you,\u201d said Dr. Mary A. Y. Okada, GCC president and CEO during the ceremony. \u201cI know you will be very successful because our children need you. So, thank you (completers) for stepping up identifying this as a career and helping to make Guam a better place not just for us as employees and employers but also for the children that we are nurturing through this process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEducation does not only involve children, but also the educators,\u201d Kimberly B. Pangelinan said in her student testimonial. \u201cEarly Childhood Educators are not only teachers they are also counselors, custodians, doctors, and many more.
