Ilao Foundation awards GCC student with scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>GUAM\u2014<\/strong>The Andrea R. Ilao Foundation recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Jenae Therese Pereda on Thursday, May 16, 2024. She is working on an Associate Degree in Early Childhood from Guam Community College, and is currently pursuing construction trades certificates in HVAC and plumbing.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation was established in December 2014 by the Ilao family in honor of their mother, Andrea, who left a legacy of civic engagement and philanthropy, which has benefited various organizations and causes on Guam. To date the foundation has awarded more than $35,000 in student scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing a recipient of the Ilao Foundation Scholarship is a great honor and opportunity,\u201d said Pereda. \u201cIt shows recognition of my hard work and dedication to my studies. Scholarships like this not only provide financial support but also open doors to new experiences and future opportunities. I am very grateful to the donors of the Ilao Foundation Scholarship,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for the Andrea R.
