The 51-year-old import business owner and former lawmaker fired a 37 in the front nine and a 35 in back nine. He had a total of five birdies on holes No. 2, 3, 7, 13, and 17 and an eagle on hole No. 14

“The course was dry and windy with gusts up to 25 mph. My best hole was No. 16. I drove my ball into the water off the tee, so I took a drop. Then I hit my third shot into the front bunker. I told myself that I had to par out on this hole to stay close to the higher handicaps who were chasing me. I flopped my bunker shot to about 6 inches for a tap in for par,” he said.

As for the hole he’d ask for a mulligan, “Hole No. 9. I was driving my tee shot to about 25 yards to the front of the green and not being able to birdie the hole wasn’t good.”

The defending RGA Ace of Aces champion can now heave a big sigh of relief that he has qualified for the yearend tourney, which is becoming harder and harder with higher handicap players perennially winning monthly tourneys.

“I dedicate this April ace to the lower handicappers (9 and below) who need to shoot lights out and go low in order to have a chance of capturing a monthly ace. Being an ace in the toughest golf association is a big deal and I look forward to our yearend Ace of Aces where I get to try and defend my title, which only a couple of guys have been able to do,” said Peter.

Domingo Atalig finished second with a line of net 72, gross 80, and front and back nines of 39-41, while Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho completed the Top 3 with his net 74 built around a gross of 82 and a 39-43.

In the closest to the pin competition, Tony Satur was without peer on holes No. 3 and 17, while Jack Sablan and Joseph Sasamoto ruled holes No. 7 and 13, respectively.

With the April win, Peter now joins Cameron San Nicolas (January), Sherlyn Jones (February), and Tars Olopai (March) in the yearend RGA Ace of Aces Golf Tournament.

Marco Peter qualified for the Refaluwasch Golf Association Ace of Aces Tournament after topping the April Ace Tournament last April 20 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.

-CONTRIBUTED PHOTO

Marco Peter ruled the Refaluwasch Golf Association April Ace of the Month Tournament held last…

[5

post-409067","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sports
["GET
