{"id":409500,"date":"2024-05-09T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-09T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=409500"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"MHS-SIS-lead-boys-v-ball-heading-into-playoffs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/MHS-SIS-lead-boys-v-ball-heading-into-playoffs\/","title":{"rendered":"MHS, SIS lead boys v-ball heading into playoffs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marianas High School Dolphins and Saipan International School Geckos lead the NMIVA-Public School System Boys High School Volleyball League 2023-2024 heading into the playoffs after their wins in the last regular season game last Tuesday at the MHS Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>The Dolphins came out of the regular season unscathed as they won their eighth game over Saipan Southern High School Manta Rays in two swift sets.<\/p>\n<p>MHS\u2019 rotating roster of Jerome Manzon, Nehemiah Coleman, Yeshaiah Coleman, Kyle Sang Hyun Moon, Mokyang Kim, Juruel Magtalas, Lowell Lumauag, and K.C. Nuyles had a commanding 21-12 win in the first set.<\/p>\n<p>The Manta Rays put up a better fight in the second, but still succumbed to the Dolphins\u2019 stronger offense and unbreakable chemistry. In a pinch, the Dolphins kept their undefeated record with a 21-14 final set win.<\/p>\n<p>In one of the final games of the night, the Geckos stuck the landing with their seventeen win as they defeated Grace Christian Academy Eagles in also two fast sets.<\/p>\n<p>SIS\u2019 powerful overhead spikes and overpowering kills allowed them to scoop up the first set, 21-11.
