{"id":410018,"date":"2024-06-05T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=410018"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"Taylor-Germance-is-Home-Run-Derby-king","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/Taylor-Germance-is-Home-Run-Derby-king\/","title":{"rendered":"Taylor Germance is Home Run Derby king"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Taylor Germance is the king of the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association master\u2019s division Home Run Derby last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.<\/p>\n<p>After the round of games earlier in the day, the Home Run Derby was set up for sluggers willing to showcase their strength and hit souvenirs out of the ballpark.<\/p>\n<p>Asahi\u2019s Germance dominated the derby in the second and last round after he out-scoring teammate Dom Hideo. Germance hit four homers to secure first place, while Hideo hit two for second place.<\/p>\n<p>Third place went to Tuturamz\u2019 Mike Techur after he hit four dingers in the first round.<\/p>\n<p>Germance and Hideo were tied at five moon shots in the first round to advance to the second and final stage.<\/p>\n<p>All 12 participants had 10 balls and tries throughout the derby.<\/p>\n<p>The champion Germance received one Michelob Ultra bat and a half case of beer.
