Ogo (Ind-Rota) has officially announced her bid for reelection to continue serving the people of Rota in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Since taking office, Ogo has been a dedicated public servant committed to advocating for the interests and needs of her constituents. Her unwavering dedication, as chairwoman of the CNMI 23rd House of Representatives Standing Committee on Commerce and Tourism and improving economic opportunities for all residents of Rota and the CNMI has earned her widespread support and respect leading to her final decision to seek reelection.

“I am proud to announce my candidacy for reelection as your representative. Over the past term, we have made progress despite the economic challenges we are facing today. Some of my legislative proposals are still being refined through various communications with stakeholders, the legal team, and legislative committees to ensure their effectiveness in achieving their ultimate objectives. However, for those interested in reviewing my legislative work, please don’t hesitate to call my office and request electronic copies of the legislation status board used in my office to track their progress. There is much more work to be done, and I am committed to continuing to fight for the issues that matter most to the people of Rota and CNMI,” said Ogo.

Throughout her tenure, Ogo has been a strong voice on all issues affecting the people of Rota in the legislature. She works tirelessly, including meeting with various groups and individuals outside of her legislative work and often late into the night and through the weekends to address critical issues facing the community and championing policies that promote inclusivity, equity, and progress.

As she enters the reelection campaign, Ogo looks forward to engaging with constituents, hearing their concerns, and sharing her vision for a brighter future for all residents of Rota. A face-to-face campaign is ongoing throughout villages on Rota. The underlying theme of her reelection is to encourage the community to engage in active dialogues and arrive at solutions together. “I would like to see the people of Rota, once described by my elders, as fully involved, full of pride, and united to protect their values and environment. I believe that this atmosphere of unity will spill over to the leadership of Rota and achieve greater things together—“UNIFY FOR PROGRESS”—that has become my campaign slogan for the upcoming election.”

Despite the differences in political ideology, Representative Ogo believes that the most commonality they share is that the Rota leadership members are all “Gilitas” and love their people, island, and unique way of life.

For more information about Ogo’s work, visit her official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/repjulieogo

Campaign page: https://www.facebook.com/share/joejPNUz4CpoMuFU/?mibextid=LQQJ4d. (PR)

Julie Marie A.
