After doing so, Biden officially endorsed Harris as the Democratic Party’s nominee

According to an official statement from the Democratic Party of the NMI, immediately following the president’s endorsement, the NMI along with state party chairs, vice chairs, and executive directors across the country solidified their support during a meeting with the Association of State Democratic Chairs.

Democratic Party of the NMI vice chair Luella Marciano stated that she pledges her support for the State party’s decision.

“I pledged my support right away with the efforts that were circulated, and during the call I was elated to hear not one vote in opposition of VP Harris as our nominee. A lot has happened since our presidential primary in March, and I firmly believe that every challenge, and turning point has motivated us to do better, and be better. We will continue to ‘build back better’ and honor the legacy of the President.”

Party treasurer Shawna Indalecio, who’s also a delegate, expressed that she’ll always be a proud Democrat.

“I love our party, honored to serve, to be a delegate, and to have voted for Biden-Harris as the nominee twice now. I’m aligned with a party that recognizes me as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and among the first to serve in our party’s history. On a national level, there’s a huge difference with our rights being stripped away by Republicans every day. There’s only one party that fights for us, and Democrats are fired up! We’ve embarked on this journey together, and these blue waves are pushing forward,” she said.

Executive director Nola Hix, for her part, said we’re living in a pivotal time in our party’s history where so much progress has been made, but there’s still so much work to do

“Our people, and future generations are depending on us to continue the fight for women’s rights, Social Security, Medicare, Affordable Health Care, climate action, LGBTQIA+ rights, marriage equality, gun safety reform, voting rights, and so much more. My daughters need to know that we are fighting for their future, they can be whatever they want, and they can also hold the highest seat in the nation if they choose,” she said.

NMI delegates who were elected during their presidential primary in March are also in full support of Vice President Harris as their party’s nominee.

“Our delegation has not changed and neither has our vote. We stand in solidarity with our fellow Democrats in the territories and across the country united to retain the White House in November. We are mobilized and energized for the work ahead and Vice President Kamala Harris has our full support,” the statement said.

NMI Democratic Party logo

The Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands has expressed its support for Vice President…

[4

post-411720","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
