Matta is the first member of NMC’s 2024 Nursing graduating class to pass the NCLEX-RN.

Nursing graduates must pass the NCLEX-RN to be able to practice nursing in the United States. The exam tests the knowledge, skills, and abilities of nursing graduates in order to certify that they are capable of applying entry-level nursing practices correctly.

“We are extremely proud of Cassie’s accomplishments as well as the other nursing students who have been able to reach this important milestone of passing the NCLEX,” NMC president Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero.

NMC Nursing Department chair Rosa Aldan likewise congratulated Matta on her achievements.

“On behalf of the entire nursing faculty here at the college, we are extremely proud of Cassie for passing such a rigorous exam,” Aldan said. “I have no doubt that she will do great things in her career as a nurse.”

Having graduated this year with a nursing degree, Matta, a 2024 NMC nursing graduate, pursued nursing due to her passion for helping people and improving lives.

“The prospect of offering empathetic medical care, promoting health and wellness, and assisting patients and their families during trying times motivates me,” Matta said.

Matta emphasizes utilizing Kaplan while preparing for the NCLEX, “I diligently studied, practiced over 2,000 questions, and utilized every available resource to enhance my knowledge and test-taking skills. Moreover, the unwavering support of my husband, family, and friends who cheered me on throughout this journey was invaluable.”

“Throughout my study period, I consistently utilized Kaplan, a resource we’ve relied on since the first semester. I found it to be instrumental in preparing me for the exam, particularly through the CAT exams which closely simulated the NCLEX experience. Furthermore, the encouragement and empowerment from my instructors throughout the nursing program gave me the confidence I needed to succeed,” Matta added.

Her advice to other NMC students planning to take the NCLEX revolves around consistency and believing in yourself. “Be consistent, learn how to dissect a question, and believe in yourself. The NCLEX is truly just a safety exam. If you have that in mind, you don’t have anything to be worried about.”

For more information about NMC’s nursing program, email NMC Nursing Department fhair Rosa T.
