{"id":41198,"date":"2014-07-10T18:32:35","date_gmt":"2014-07-10T08:32:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=41198"},"modified":"2014-07-10T18:32:35","modified_gmt":"2014-07-10T08:32:35","slug":"senate-oks-saipan-casino-law-fix-bill-vote-7-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/senate-oks-saipan-casino-law-fix-bill-vote-7-0\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate OKs Saipan casino law fix bill by vote of 7-0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By a vote of 7-0 with one abstention and one voting \u201cpresent,\u201d the Senate passed Thursday evening a controversial bill repealing and reenacting the Saipan casino law in its entirety to clarify ambiguities as a throng of retirees and former defined benefit plan members crowded the Senate chamber and gallery for almost five hours.<\/p>\n<p>House Bill 18-195, House Draft 1 is now headed to Gov. Eloy S. Inos, who earlier told Saipan Tribune he intends to sign the bill promptly.<\/p>\n<p>The seven \u201cyes\u201d votes came from Sens. Francisco Borja (Ind-Tinian), Joaquin Borja (Ind-Tinian), vice president Victor Hocog (R-Rota), Paul Manglona (Ind-Rota), Pete Reyes (Ind-Saipan), Jovita Taimanao (Ind-Rota), and Senate President Ralph Torres (R-Saipan).<\/p>\n<p>Sen.
