(BPT) – In the years post-pandemic, many parents are reconsidering their priorities. New research from Scouting America found parents want to embrace the magic of childhood and \u201clet kids be kids\u201d (+18% increase in 3 years). After being cooped up at home for years, kids seem to have similar desires, focusing on things like friendship and the future, being trusted and respected and being capable of solving problems on their own.<\/p>\n

As a new school year begins, Scouting America<\/a> is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of both kids and parents. For parents, it can help their kids navigate a world that can be challenging. For kids, it provides a shot at childhood for a generation that has only known chaos.<\/p>\n

Parents who are unfamiliar with \u2014 or have misperceptions about \u2014 modern Scouting might assume that it\u2019s all camping, fishing and hiking.
