This event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>This year marks the 17th anniversary of the establishment of AANAPISI. In addition, the week of Sept. 23-27, highlights the critical role AANAPISI programs play in supporting the academic success of Asian American, Native American, and Pacific Islander students.<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Islander Cultural Night will offer an immersive experience in the diverse cultures of the Pacific Islands, featuring traditional arts, performances, and local delicacies. Attendees will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<p>Learn about Pacific Islanders: Engage in games and activities showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Marianas. Local organizations, such as the Talaya Club and Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, will be present to share traditional practices and literature by local authors. Information on AANAPISI\u2019s impact on higher education will also be available.<\/p>\n<p>Experience the arts of the Marianas: Special guest performers by local artists and cultural clubs such as Saipan Southern High School\u2019s Nesian Cultural Club and Marianas High School Polksai Guma Chamorro Club will present traditional songs and dances. NMC students will demonstrate weaving and mwarmwar making, offering a hands-on look at Pacific Islander artistry.<\/p>\n<p>Indulge in local favorites: Savor dishes prepared by popular local food establishments like Galaxy II Snack Bar, El Bishu, Oh My Grill, Cokonut Express, Magbers, Yaya\u2019s Baked Goods, and Tupu Cane Juice.
