Lou Leon Guerrero signed the 2025 Fiscal Year Budget Bill No. 236-37 (COR) into Public Law 37-125 last week, which includes an amendment introduced by Democrat Sen. Dwayne T.D. San Nicolas to secure a home for the Guam Motorsports Association in Yigo.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment ensures the Chamorro Land Trust Commission negotiates a noncommercial lease with GMA for the property housing the raceway in Yigo and mandates that the negotiations for the lease on Lot 7161-R1 begin within 90 days of the law\u2019s enactment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Yigo raceway has been a longtime hub for our local motorsports community,\u201d said San Nicolas, the sponsor of the amendment. \u201cIt has been the venue for our racing community, offering both a controlled environment and a place for families and fellow enthusiasts to gather and pursue their passions. I\u2019m committed to restoring the raceway as a safe space for recreational activities and providing our motorsports enthusiasts with a place to call home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Public Law 37-125 requires the CLTC to lease a portion of the property to GMA, allowing the continued operation on Lot 7161-R1 in Yigo to host races as well as various related outdoor events and support facilities, all of which have been central to the island\u2019s growing motorsports scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe passage of this law guarantees that the raceway will continue to be a dedicated space for organized motorsports activities. I thank my legislative colleagues and Gov.
