{"id":414370,"date":"2024-10-25T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-25T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=414370"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"Shirley-s-Kanoa-chomp-on-foes-in-TYSL","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/Shirley-s-Kanoa-chomp-on-foes-in-TYSL\/","title":{"rendered":"Shirley\u2019s, Kanoa chomp on foes in TYSL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shirley\u2019s Football Club and Kanoa FC chomped on their foes in their respective divisions of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2024 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Shirley\u2019s U12 boys team maneuvered the pitch well and won, 3-1, over Paire FC.<\/p>\n<p>It was a strong start to the matchup with Shirley\u2019s quickly stirring the pot and scoring a goal just a minute in from the cleat of Jeno Pino. Paire tried to weave through and create some plays and it paid off with a conversion in the 17th by Casmiro Cosmes to knot it all up, 1-1.<\/p>\n<p>It was anybody\u2019s game at this point as they both tried to break up the tie. Both teams attacked and barraged each other\u2019s territory with no result until Shirley\u2019s Jpiel Calsita put them up, 2-1, in the 30th minute. Pino then ensured them some insurance goal just a couple minutes later for a 3-1 game.<\/p>\n<p>Paire\u2019s attempts at the goal from then were hasty and they were unable to deliver as Shirley\u2019s defenses didn\u2019t allow them any more access to their keeper.<\/p>\n<p>In the U14 girls division, Kanoa held on to win, 3-2, over Shirley\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>After multiple exchanges on the pitch, Kanoa\u2019s Ye Lynn Ha broke through to put them up, 1-0 in the 15th. Then, a minute later, doubled their advantage as Shirley\u2019s was left scrambling to regroup.<\/p>\n<p>Alyssa Borlongan didn\u2019t take long to find the back of the net and get Shirley\u2019s on board in the 22nd minute for a 1-2 game. Shirley\u2019s tried to rally and had some chances to equalize, but Kanoa\u2019s defenses held to maintain their one goal lead. Then, Cali Cabrera extended their lead in the 37th and made it 3-1.<\/p>\n<p>A couple minutes later, Shirley\u2019s Princess Gariguez landed a goal and cut the lead to one once again, 2-3.
