{"id":414887,"date":"2024-10-23T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=414887"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"Saipan-Community-School-Concert-Band-presents-Places","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/Saipan-Community-School-Concert-Band-presents-Places\/","title":{"rendered":"Saipan Community School Concert Band presents \u2018Places\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Community School Concert Band is proud to present its fall concert \u201cPlaces: A Concert About Places\u201d on Thursday, Oct. 24, 6:30pm in the SCS Chapel.<\/p>\n<p>This musical journey will transport the audience through various places around the world, with pieces that reflect cultural heritage, geographic beauty, and timeless traditions.<\/p>\n<p>The program will include a variety of well-loved compositions such as \u201cNorse Song\u201d by Robert Schumann, \u201cMoscow Nights,\u201d \u201cNew World Salute,\u201d and a patriotic medley in \u201cThe Red, The White, and The Blues.\u201d The evening will also feature selections from \u201cPeter and the Wolf\u201d and \u201cAfrican Sketches,\u201d showcasing the rich diversity of musical traditions from around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>The concert will also showcase a solo performance by clarinetist Vivian Chung during \u201cSt. Louis Blues,\u201d arranged by Paul Jennings.<\/p>\n<p>The program will be performed by the Advanced Band, Intermediate Band, and Beginning Band, with special guest performers joining the advanced section. The performers include a talented group of students from various grades, some of whom will be debuting their skills on stage for the first time. The band students have worked diligently to prepare for this performance, and they are excited to share their love of music with the community.<\/p>\n<p>Advanced Band performers<\/p>\n<p>Flutes: Jina Chun, Yoon Sung Choi, Junwoo Kwon, Chloe Lee, Sehwa Lim, Aileen Kim, and special guest Celine Park<\/p>\n<p>Clarinets: Hui An, Vivian Chung, Seong Woo Lee, Claire Oh, Hiyori Okuma, Fiona Yu, and special guest Donavan Tudela<\/p>\n<p>Bass Clarinet: Melvin Reyes<\/p>\n<p>Alto Saxophone: Elijah Pangelinan, and special guest David Park<\/p>\n<p>Tenor Saxophone: Vivian Chung<\/p>\n<p>Trumpets: Jeordan Buduan, Josh McDonald, Sam Pangelinan, Lennox Sablan, and special guest Jihun Park,<\/p>\n<p>Percussion: Vivian Chung, Iyani Muna, Keavene Punzalan, Amethyst Winkfield, Fiona Yu<\/p>\n<p>Intermediate Band performers<\/p>\n<p>Flutes: Aileen Kim, Sehwa Lim<\/p>\n<p>Clarinets: Antonio Heras, Aileen Kim, Amethyst Winkfield, Fiona Yu<\/p>\n<p>Trumpets: Jeordan Buduan, Lennox Sablan<\/p>\n<p>Percussion: Troy Aldan, Sera Alvarez, Amethyst Winkfield<\/p>\n<p>Beginning Band performers<\/p>\n<p>Flutes: Onyu Seok, Vivian So<\/p>\n<p>Clarinet: Aiko Tenorio<\/p>\n<p>Trumpet: Johnson He<\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Community School invites parents, families, and the broader community to join us for this special evening of music.
