Shakespeare<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomething is rotten in the state of Denmark. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in our philosophy.\u201d (Hamlet, Act 1, play by William Shakespeare)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause something is happening here but you don\u2019t know what it is do you, Mr. Jones\u201d Bob Dylan, Ballad of a Thin Man.<\/p>\n<p><h3>Development\/Themes<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Some fruit doesn\u2019t fall very far from the tree<\/p>\n<p>somebody else said it long ago it was not me<\/p>\n<p>some edible roots and leaves give healthy results<\/p>\n<p>some injuries heal but leave lasting memories<\/p>\n<p>some reality stinks from hell to high heaven<\/p>\n<p>some understand wading through life\u2019s muck<\/p>\n<p>\u2018some guys complain some have all the luck\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Answer me this do you remember your first kiss<\/p>\n<p>those moments of bliss the name of Mister or Miss<\/p>\n<p>the poet more than likely means something else<\/p>\n<p>other than sunlight sand sex surf and seashells<\/p>\n<p>perhaps a turbulent ocean full of raw emotion<\/p>\n<p>a deep stormy sea full of love dreams devotion<\/p>\n<p>there\u2019s surely something else in sonnets he tells.<\/p>\n<p><h3>Recapitulation\/Coda<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Somethings gone wrong with life\u2019s unhappy song<\/p>\n<p>somethings right with democracy freedom\u2019s light<\/p>\n<p>we knew it was out there shining all along<\/p>\n<p>despite fear and loathing of ideological blight.<\/p>\n<p>Somethings are so small we will never see them<\/p>\n<p>and only resolved in a quantum theory problem<\/p>\n<p>in which some things are solved then dissolved<\/p>\n<p>what\u2019s up with that? quantum theory spits it back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cthese are a few of my favorite things\u2019 an excerpt<\/p>\n<p>from a song in the musical, The Sound of Music<\/p>\n<p>the sounds in a Chinese kitchen, Pong Pang Pings<\/p>\n<p>not in cell phone pings or rings in people\u2019s noses<\/p>\n<p>but church bells ringing rings around the moon<\/p>\n<p>wedding rings and throughout this 21st century<\/p>\n<p>interest in Baroque music instruments and strings<\/p>\n<p>and the changing cosmological theory of strings.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday I said some things about \u2018nothing\u2019<\/p>\n<p>today it is about \u2018somethings\u2019 else again<\/p>\n<p>flowing from Batbon\u2019s Brane and Joey\u2019s pen<\/p>\n<p>trying hard not to forget a time when someone<\/p>\n<p>sang, \u201cEverything is beautiful in its own way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>(next week Part 3, Q&amp;A on everything)<\/em><\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/imgupload\/51ec1f1100d5d7eea9228e5f43276c9f.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Joey aka &#8220;Pepe Batbon&#8221; Connolly is a retired educator who taught in the CNMI, NOLA, and LVNV.
