{"id":415276,"date":"2024-10-11T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-11T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=415276"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"MP-United-Kanoa-U17-girls-nip-foes-in-TYSL","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/MP-United-Kanoa-U17-girls-nip-foes-in-TYSL\/","title":{"rendered":"MP United, Kanoa U17 girls nip foes in TYSL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MP United Football Club and Kanoa Football Club\u2019s U17 girls teams nipped their foes in the continuation of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2024 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>MP United doubled Shirley\u2019s goals to win, 4-2. While Shirley\u2019s got first dibs with a goal to open up the game in the 16th by Alyssa Borlongan, MPU\u2019s Yeji Jang quickly tied it up in the 23rd.<\/p>\n<p>A long battle for the upper hand and possession ensued in the next second half as both teams could not find the back of the net. But when MPU got going again, they capitalized on their momentum to secure the win.<\/p>\n<p>The second goal for MPU was made by Addalee Taflinger in the 40th, but it was all knotted up again as Borlongan replied just two minutes later for a 2-2 game. However, Fiona Regan gave MPU the advantage once more in the 45th then Jang wrapped it up with their fourth goal in the 53rd.<\/p>\n<p>As for Kanoa, they shut out Paire, 4-0.<\/p>\n<p>It was a struggle for possession early on but Kanoa managed to pull away after their first goal in the 22nd by Beatrice Gross. It only went uphill from there as another goal slipped past in the 46th for a 2-0 game.<\/p>\n<p>Then in extra time, Faith Arriola and Miley Mafnas added the two goals which eventually became the final, 4-0 as Paire could not find an open path to Kanao\u2019s territory.<\/p>\n<p>In other divisions, MP United blanked the Women\u2019s Developmental Team, 2-0, in the U17 boys, and Kanoa and Matansa FC ended in a 2-2 draw.<\/p>\n<p>In the U14 boys division, Kanoa FC 1 slipped past Latte FC, 2-1; Matansa drubbed Shirley\u2019s FC, 5-1; and MP United overpowered Paire, 14-0.
