According to Grade 5 teacher Daryn Roufs, “this compassionate project not only showcased the students’ love for animals but also highlighted the essential support from teachers in the elementary school, who guided and inspired the students throughout the process. Thank you to Mrs. Doris for all of the effort and help with the Kindness Crew and leading them to take positive action within the community!”

The Kindness Crew took great pride in showing leadership throughout the process of creating hand-made lollipops to sell. The fifth graders sold the lollipops during recess, attracting students from all grades eager to enjoy a sweet snack while contributing to a noble cause. Thanks to the overwhelming support from the school community, fifth graders were able to contribute and support the Saipan Cares for Animals organization.

This initiative became a true school-wide effort, demonstrating the power of kindness and teamwork. Teachers played a crucial role helping students organize their activities and encouraging them to engage with the community. This collaborative spirit reflects the school’s commitment to fostering social responsibility among its students.

“Our goal was to make a difference,” shared Tim Watson, a proud member of the Kindness Crew. “Even just one lollipop can help feed a dog and show our community that small actions can have a big impact.” This sentiment resonates deeply within the school as students learn that compassion and teamwork can lead to meaningful change.

Through this successful initiative, SIS not only provided vital support for local animals but also instilled valuable lessons about empathy and community involvement in its students. The Kindness Crew’s efforts serve as an inspiring example of how young hearts can come together to create positive change in their community. (PR)

Saipan International School’s fifth grade Kindness Crew, led by teacher Doris Rioux-Materne, pose after their heartwarming initiative, “Buy One Lollipop, Save One Dog” for Saipan Cares for Animals.

-SIS

The fifth grade Kindness Crew, led by teacher Doris Rioux-Materne, at Saipan International School has…

[4

post-415530","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
