{"id":41708,"date":"2014-07-17T04:00:03","date_gmt":"2014-07-16T18:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=41708"},"modified":"2014-07-17T04:00:03","modified_gmt":"2014-07-16T18:00:03","slug":"450k-child-tax-checks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/450k-child-tax-checks\/","title":{"rendered":"$450K child tax checks out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Finance released yesterday morning the third batch of child tax credit checks totaling $450,000. <\/p>\n<p>Finance Secretary Larrisa Larson told Saipan Tribune they have by now already released $4 million to $5 million in child tax money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe released everyone who is cleared in the system that filed as of April 15,\u201d Larson said.<\/p>\n<p>She said right now they are working on those people who filed after the deadline and those who asked for extensions.<\/p>\n<p>The Finance secretary said they are also correcting the records of those people who come in to clear their errors.<\/p>\n<p>For refund and rebates, Larson estimates that close to $4 million or $5 million has already been distributed by now.<\/p>\n<p>Last June 14, Finance released the first batch of refund, rebate, and child tax credit checks for calendar year 2013, totaling nearly $5 million for almost 6,700 taxpayers.
