Gov. Jude U. Hofschneider, announced his resignation on Monday, July 14, 2014. Aguon will be leaving the administration to attend the University of San Francisco School of Law.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42308\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42308\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Chief-of-staff.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-42308\" alt=\"Chief-of-staff\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Chief-of-staff-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42308\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lt. (Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In his resignation letter, Aguon described his time as chief of staff as an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn such a short time, [Lt. Gov. Hofschneider] and Gov. [Eloy S.] Inos have managed to restore strength in our people and trust in our government. It was an honor to be a small part of [this] administration and I thank [the lieutenant governor] for the invaluable opportunity [he has] given me to serve on [his] team. I extend my sincerest appreciation for [his] guidance throughout the years, and [his] unwavering support in my pursuing a higher education,\u201d Aguon said.<\/p>\n<p>Hofschneider said he is grateful for Aguon\u2019s service and wishes him the best in law school. \u201cI have always encouraged our youth to pursue professional careers, and when Anthony let me know of his intentions to attend law school I gave him my full support. I applaud him for his ambition and look forward to his return to the CNMI, so that he may serve the community in a new capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aguon\u2019s resignation is effective Aug. 9, 2014, leaving the position he has held since Hofschneider took office in February 2013. <em><strong>(Office of the Lt.
